Microplastics Concentrations in Soil Along a Racetrack
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Motorsport is known for its high tire wear due to speed, cornering, and acceleration/deceleration activities. However, studies on the generation of microplastics from racetracks are rare. This study aimed at quantifying concentrations in topsoil (0–5 cm) along a racetrack. The results showed that rubber materials (RM) reinforcement (TRMP) were deposited soil Concentrations two affected by distance edge racetrack (highest within 20 cm track) track alignment start/finish area). In addition, weak correlation was observed between microplastics, suggesting effect type abraded. also coarser (1000–5000 μm) dominate size distribution findings this may provide managers with basic information designing microplastic-controlling solutions. While additional required map environmental effects policy measures, our initial suggest motorsport concern terms release environment.

Microplastics profile along the Rhine River
Microplastics result from fragmentation of plastic debris or are released to the environment as pre-production pellets or components of consumer and industrial products. In the oceans, they contribute to the 'great garbage patches'. They are ingested by many organisms, from protozoa to baleen whales, and pose a threat to the aquatic fauna. Although as much as 80% of marine debris originates fro...

Soil salinity is considered as one of the major challenges in coastal agriculture in Bangladesh yet geographical extent of soil salinity and nutrients status have received little or no attention. This study investigated the patterns of soil salinity, total nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and sulfur between agricultural and fallow land along a 90 km distance from the coastline in Noakhali, Bang...

متن کاملIn a nutshell: Microplastics and fisheries
Information of the ecological consequences of microplastic pollution is nascent; however, there is increasing evidence of direct and indirect effects associated with the ingestion by organisms and the toxic responses from inherent contaminants leaching from the microplastics and from extraneous pollutants that adhere to them (Cole et al. 2011; Teuten et al. 2009). The size of microplastics is e...
متن کاملVariation in wood nutrients along a tropical soil fertility gradient.
Wood contains the majority of the nutrients in tropical trees, yet controls over wood nutrient concentrations and their function are poorly understood. We measured wood nutrient concentrations in 106 tree species in 10 forest plots spanning a regional fertility gradient in Panama. For a subset of species, we quantified foliar nutrients and wood density to test whether wood nutrients scale with ...
